SPOKANE - Walla Walla Community College's women's soccer team moved into sole possession of first place in the NWAACC East Division here Saturday with a 5-1 triumph over the host Sasquatch.
Kaylie Winston tallied a hat trick for WWCC, ranked No. 1 in the latest NWAACC coaches poll.
The Warriors obliterated a 0-0 halftime score with four goals in the first 23 minutes of the second half. Winston scored two of those goals - in the 60th and 68th minutes, respectively.
Sam Johnson got Walla Walla on the board in the first minute of half two.
Sami Hansen gave the Warriors a 2-0 lead with a goal at the 59-minute mark.
Winston completed her hat trick in the 82nd minute of play. She is second in the NWAACC with 16 goals on the season.
The win improved the two-time defending NWAACC champions' league record to 9-0 and their overall mark to 13-0-1.
Spokane is now 8-1 and 11-2.
WWCC plays at Treasure Valley on Wednesday.
