A bill passed by the Senate could offer a boost to a local ski area.
The Ski Area Recreational Opportunity Enhancement Act, backed by U.S. Sens. Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray, D-Wash., offers help for ski area communities to attract recreational visitors -- and create jobs -- year-round.
Ski Bluewood is among eight ski areas on federal lands within Washington that will benefit from the legislation, according to a news release.
Cantwell, a member of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, cosponsored the bill, as did Murray.
