WWVA closes out Liberty Christian in three

COLLEGE PLACE - Walla Walla Valley Academy picked up a Southeast 2B volleyball victory over visiting Liberty Christian, 26-24, 25-14, 25-18, Tuesday.

"It was good to get the win," Knights coach Scott Schafer said. "We've kind of been up and down all year. It was senior night, and the kids came out and played strong."

Kristianna Buell was 13-for-13 serving with 10 assists for WWVA.

Brooklynn Larson also put up 10 assists, and Amy Arnzen recorded seven kills.

"My kill leader (Arnzen) is a sophomore, and that's nice to see," Schafer said. "She's had good matches this season."

Tasha Talbot came up with 21 digs for the Patriots, Sarah Croskrey had 16 assists and Deborah Croskrey recorded eight kills and six aces.

"To win in three is great," Schafer said. "We've struggled in closing out close matches, and that first set was close. They (the Knights) were excited."

The Knights, 3-8 in the SE2B, closes out the season at DeSales at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
