WALLA WALLA -- The investigation is continuing into possible financial improprieties at the Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office.
The two-year probe, which began in October 2009, is being conducted by the Washington State Patrol, the state Auditor's Office and the FBI's Spokane Field Office.
"It remains an active matter, but I don't have anything I can make public this week," FBI Supervising Senior Resident Agent Frank Harrill said in an e-mail.
The investigation was started after then-Sheriff Mike Humphreys requested the WSP and auditor's office look into an allegation of financial improprieties. Officials have said the investigation has focused on an individual, but requests for further information have been denied.
