Wa-Hi swimmers jet past Davis and Eisenhower

YAKIMA - The Wa-Hi girls swimming team paddled its way to a dual meet victory over Davis and Eisenhower. The score versus Davis was Wa-Hi 140, its opponents 26. Eisenhower managed just 52 points to Wa-Hi's 124.

"It was a really successful meet for the girls," Wa-Hi Catherine Curls said, "Wa-Hi placed first, second or third in almost all the events.

"It was our last meet of the regular season as we head into districts and state. It was the last meet for the girls who did not qualify for districts, and they had some great swims."

Two more Wa-Hi girls qualified for events at districts here Saturday. Taylor Richardson and Jennifer Cho both made the cuts in their events. Richardson in the 200 individual medley and Cho in the 200 freestyle

"It has been a great regular season," Curls said, "The girls have learned about comrade, their inner strength, and determination in addition to all the technical aspects of swimming.

"I'm very excited to see how we do in the post-season. It will be a good few weeks."
