Walla Walla Community College women romp past Knights


WENATCHEE - Walla Walla Community College's women's soccer team didn't face much opposition in an 11-0 romp past Wenatchee Valley here Saturday.

Sami Hansen opened the scoring floodgates for WWCC off an assist from Kaylie Winston in the ninth minute. Winston recorded a goal of her own in the 11th minute off a pass from Sam Johnson, and Hansen again teamed with Winston for her second of three goals on the day in the 32nd minute.

Jordan Rodriguez made it 4-0 in the 36th minute, followed by Johnson's direct kick from 35 yards out that found its mark in the 39th minute.

Hansen's third goal off a Johnson corner kick in the 41st minute, followed by Emily Jordan's score on a shot off the crossbar in the 56th minute; Marie Monasterio's 30-yard strike in the 57th minute; Shae Yuma's score off an assist from Kara Churchman; another Rodriguez goal in the 75th minute; and Jordan's final tally in the 81st minute.

The Warriors,13-0 in NWAACC East play, 15-0-1 overall, and ranked No. 1 in the latest NWAACC poll. They host Columbia Basin at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
