LA GRANDE - The Pioneers dropped a three-set match to the Tigers of La Grande Tuesday, struggling to a 25-8, 25-16 and 25-16 loss to end the regular season for Mac-Hi.
"La Grande got first in our league (Greater Oregon League), they're just a really great team, really well coached, really well trained," Mac-Hi coach Kaila Rodighiero said. "La Grande is just a really great team and they outplayed us a little bit. Our girls defended them really well."
The loss drops Mac-Hi to 2-7 in GOL play. The Pioneers are in third after recording two wins against Ontario.
Mac-Hi play again Saturday in a play-in for the district tournament against an opponent that has yet to be determined.
