Tigerscots fall to Heppner


PILOT ROCK - Top seeded Weston-McEwen lost to rival Heppner by scores of 21-25, 25-18, 29-31 and 20-25, in the Blue Mountain Conference title game Saturday.

W-M was rated No. 3 in the OSAA going into the match - Heppner was fourth.

Both will advance to the state play-in games next Saturday.

"We played a top ten team in state in Heppner," W-M coach Shawn White said. "We lost but it was a good learning experience. We played them tough but didn't quite get it done. Hopefully, we'll come out stronger next week."

Morgan Entze was the TigerScot stat leader. Entze had eight assists, 10 kills and was 24-24 serving with two aces.

Taryn Coffman had seven assists and Molly von Borstel added 16 kills.

Taylor Rudolph picked up nine digs and contributed a kill.

Katy West slammed three kills and knocked down five blocks.

Marlene Bodmer added five blocks and Jaymie Zimmerman had three.

Melanie Sederburg leaped for six blocks and McKayla Carlin had 15 digs.
