YAKIMA - Kaylie Winston tallied a first-half hat trick here Saturday afternoon as two-time defending NWAACC women's soccer champion Walla Walla Community College clnched a tie for the program's ninth consecutive East Division title by posting a 5-0 victory over Yakima Valley.
Winston has now scored an NWAACC-best 24 goals this season.
Sami Hansen and Peyton Moon added a goal apiece after halftime as the Warriors, ranked No. 1 in the latest NWAACC poll, improved to 13-0 in league and 17-0-1 overall.
WWCC's triumph kept its six-point edge on second-place Spokane in the East Division standings intact. The Sasquatch blanked Wenatchee Valley, 10-0, on Saturday.
Third-place YVC dropped to 8-5 and 10-6-1.
Winston's goals occurred in the 21st, 25th, and 36th minutes. Paige Sorensen assisted on the second of Winston's three tallies.
Hansen booted her goal in the 55th minute, assisted by Sorensen, and Moon closed out the scoring at the 78-minute mark off an assist by Jordan Rodriguez.
The Warriors host Spokane Wednesday at 1 p.m.
