Natalia (Nikki) Kalai Zubriski, 26, and her son, Jolan Wilson, died Aug. 22, 2011, in an automobile accident in Coos County, Ore. Nikki was born in Roseburg, Ore., but grew up in College Place. She attended Rogers Elementary School, Walla Walla Valley Academy, Lincoln Alternative High School, and completed a GED through Walla Walla Community College.
Nikki was a standout from her earliest years, a beautiful, bright, enthusiastic, cheerful and highly motivated child. She possessed a great reservoir of love that was most evident in her role as a devoted mother to her three children, who were the focus of her life. From their earliest years, she was a wonderfully protective mother and always concerned about their well being.
Nikki is survived by her mother, Karan Shultz of College Place; siblings, Melissa Rau of South Korea and Kris and Jack Shultz of New Hampshire; her children, Amber Wilson and Michael Zubriski III; and her father, Jon Rau. She is also survived by her grandparents, Lainys Stevens and Dan and Carolyn Shultz of College Place, JoAn Bell of Florida, and Eugene and Betty Lou Rau of Tennessee, as well as numerous other relatives.
An education fund for the surviving children of Natalia Zubriski has been established at the Blue Mountain Credit Union in College Place.
