BURBANK - A Kennewick man was arrested Thursday in the shooting of two cows about a mile east of Fishhook Park.

According to a Walla Walla County Sheriff's report, a witness was able to get a partial license plate number from a vehicle leaving the area.

Deputies later found the vehicle on SR 124 near mile post three, where a high-risk stop was made because of the possibility of a firearm.

Deputies arrested the driver, Justin Matthew Sprengel, 20, of Kennewick.

According to the report, Sprengel's passenger, Ashley Deno, reported that Sprengel had shot at least one cow, which Sprengel later confirmed during the investigation.

Sprengel was arrested on investigation of second-degree theft of livestock, second-degree criminal trespassing, obstructing a law enforcement officer and driving under the influence.
