Toama LaRae Brunton
January 4, 1975 - September 5, 2011
Toama LaRae Brunton lost her fight with cancer on September 5, 2011 in her home.
Toama was born on January 4, 1975 at St. Mary Medical Center to
Silas David Brunton and E. Diane Sumerlin. She grew up in the Walla
Walla Valley except for a couple of years in Kelso, Washington. She
graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1993. She gave birth to
Coreena LeAnne Berry on March 9, 1994.
She met her life partner Joel E. Thompson about a year later in 1995, and gave birth to
Christopher Jevin Brunton, on November 22, 1996.
Over the years she helped many children through good and
bad times. She was a mother to Coreena and Chris and a mom
to many. She found her calling as a CNA working in home care.
Then found her niche at the WWVA Medical Center in the
Psych and Detox Department. She enjoyed baking and trying
new crafts. She also loved animals and always had two or more
running, or flying, around. But her network of children was
always her top priority. She also tried to take care of her mom.
Toama is survived by her daughter, Coreena LeAnne
Berry; son, Christopher Jevin Brunton; adopted daughter,
Heather A Patrick; life partner, Joel E Thompson; father, Silas
