Having been a commissioner myself with the Port of Walla Walla for many years, I was very disappointed with the letter recently submitted to this column by a runner-up for the position presently held by Port Commissioner Fredrickson.
Several accusations in that letter are untrue and disrespectful to say the least!
Mike is and has been a very real and helpful commissioner during the times we served together and since. He is well informed and does his "homework" for any actions taken at the official meetings of the Port.
He is fair in his actions and thorough in his studies of the issues as well as in his voting and rulings in accordance with Roberts Rules of Order. He is congenial with his fellow commissioners and guards their opportunity to discuss issues as events may require. He makes it a point to be thoughtful for, and to the workers, both in the Port office and those in the field and maintenance departments.
In his own background, he is well acquainted with values in real estate, farming, work ethics for himself and any workers therein. He is a registered appraiser in the state of Washington, as is his father. They are well known and always thorough in their work.
I encourage you to vote with me for Mike Fredrickson as Port commissioner for Walla Walla.
