David Wayne Vaughn bravely passed away at his home, Monday, Sept. 5, 2011, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Dave was born Oct. 3, 1961, to Carol Shelley in Spokane. He later took his stepfather Jerry's last name of Vaughn. He went to High School in Touchet, where he excelled in football and rodeo.
Dave met his wife, Peggy Wilson, in May 1980 in Walla Walla. They were married Oct. 27, 1984, at the College Place Presbyterian Church. They have two wonderful sons, Cody and Colton.
Dave's love of the outdoors and animals drew him to a life as a working cowboy. After working for a few ranches in Washington and Oregon, he and his family moved to Imnaha, Ore., where he successfully managed the Hubbard Ranch for many years. Later, he and his family settled in Weippe, Idaho, where he pursued his hobby of woodworking and opened Mountain Treasures Cabinetry and Woodworking.
Dave was preceded in death by his brother, Scott Faler. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Vaughn, at home; his son and daughter-in-law, Cody and Tanya Vaughn of Adel, Ore., his son, Colton Vaughn of Weippe; his mother and stepfather, Carol and Jerry Vaughn of Touchet; his brother, Cory Vaughn and his family of Milton Freewater; his mother-in-law, Wilma Wilson of Walla Walla; as well as many sisters-and brothers-in-law, and nephews and nieces throughout the northwest.
