Pomeroy picks up second SE1B victory with win over Lacrosse-Washtucna

WASHTUCNA - Pomeroy picked up its second Southeast 1B volleyball victory in as many tries with a three-set win over Lacrosse-Washtucna here Thursday, 25-20, 25-19, 25-19.

McKenzie Monahan had 11 kills for the Pirates, with Delaney Monahan slamming six kills.

Haylee Koller recorded 22 assists, McKenzie Uto was 17-of-18 serving with nine aces, and Samantha Smith 18-of-19 serving with six aces.

"I was pleased," Pomeroy coach Bruce Crossfield said. "In set two, we had bench players come in at different positions than they're used to, and they did a good job for us. I was pleased with that.

"Anytime you can win a league match on the road, it's always good."

The Pirates head to Garfield-Palouse Tuesday.
