CLARKSTON - Waitsburg-Prescott junior Seth Deal continued his stellar cross country season by winning the Seaport Invite hosted by Clarkston High School at Beachview Park here Saturday.
Deal finished the 5,000-meter course in 15:43 for the victory. Last year, Deal was second on the same course with a time of 16:29.
"He had a commanding lead by the end of the first loop, and he held it," W-P coach Joanna Lanning said. "He maintained real well, he didn't break down. He looked real good the whole race."
Deal's teammate E.J. Meserve finished 23rd in 18:10.16.
"He had a good league meet also, so it looks promising for him," Lanning said of Meserve's run.
"Our kids like this course," she said. "There's a big hill at the end, but we train for that, so it doesn't bother my kids."
Dayton's Mich Yeater finished 52nd in 20:28.45, and Jacob McCleary was 64th in 22:24.74.
On the girls side, Dayton's Samura Miller was 51st in 27:41.71.
