Members of the Touchet School Board are Sandra Bradley, Robert Schaeffer, Mandy Thompson, Michael McCubbins and Darren Goble. With McCubbins absent Thursday the board:

• AGREEMENTS/CONTRACTS: Approved agreements or contracts for LASER science kits, special education services, highly capable program grant, district improvement facilitator grant, and reading corps grant.

• PERSONNEL: Approved .6 contract with English teacher Shauna Fletcher; Melissa McKeown as high school assistant volleyball coach; Jim Greene as Athletic and events director, extra music days for Vernon Elsasser, extra vocational days for Gary Dorman, and Joan Wright as District Improvement Facilitator. Unanimous for all.

• ENROLLMENT: Learned enrollment remains at 246.5 full time equivalent students, with the budget based on 260 students.

• CAPITAL PROJECTS: Two board members and Bell met with Securities Northwest to discuss options for funds. The district plans to run a maintenance and operations levy in 2013.

• CONFERENCE: Decided not to send any board members to the state School Directors Association conference in Bellevue.

• TRAVEL POLICY: Approved revision of board policy related to meals and travel reimbursement to reflect the state Office of Fiscal Management's rates. Unanimous.

• POLICIES: Approved annual reviews of policies related to parent involvement and highly capable program, and the district/school improvement plan. Unanimous for all.

• NEWSLETTER: Learned Bell was one of three new superintendents highlighted in a recent ESD 123 newsletter.

• GRADUATION: Learned from Principal Elissa Tinder that graduation requirements have been modified due to the state's changing math requirements.

• COACHING: Learned candidates for assistant middle school volleyball coach will be interviewed Friday. Also learned an assistant basketball coach resigned.

• NEXT MEETING: The next regular board meeting is Oct. 27 at 7:30 p.m.
