Trinity Baptist Church to host prayer event Tuesday evening

WALLA WALLA - Trinity Baptist Church, 595 Abbott Road, will host a See You At the Pole pre-prayer event from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, in the youth room.

The event is sponsored by Moms in Touch International.

Students to pray for schools, cities and nation at flag poles

WALLA WALLA - Students will gather to pray at school flag poles Wednesday before school for the global prayer day known as See You at the Pole.

Grace Presbyterian to host international peacemaker

MILTON-FREEWATER - This year's International Peacemaker, Rt. Rev. Samuel Sunil Mankhin, bishop of the Church of Bangladesh, will preach at 11 a.m. Oct. 2 at Grace Presbyterian Church, 703 S. Main St.

A slide presentation and potluck meall will folllow the service.

Mankhin is the Bishop of Kushtia Diocese and deputy moderator of the Church of Bangladesh, serving more than 80 congregations in a predominately Muslim country where Christians make up less than one-half of one percent of the total population. .

The Presbyterian Peacemaking Program invites leaders from partner churches around the world to share their experience as peacemakers in their own lands. As these International Peacemakers share their healing stories, they help us to understand the peace and justice concerns of others elsewhere, giving us insights into those in our own communities..

CROP Hunger Walk to take place Oct. 9 at WWCC

WALLA WALLA - The CROP Hunger Walk will be 2 p.m. Oct. 9 starting and ending at the Deitrich Dome at Walla Walla Community College, 500 Tausick Way. Free registration is 1-1:45 p.m. Walks include 1/2-, 3- and 5-mile routes. Funds raised are returned for local food banks.
