Blue Devils drop pair of volleyball matches

W-P wins Friday's match 9-0 and Saturday's match 8-0 to remain undefeated on the soccer season.

WENATCHEE - Wa-Hi dropped a pair of Big Nine Conference 4A volleyball matches to the Panthers here Saturday.

The Blue Devils lost 29-27, 19-25, 25-17, 26-24 in the opening match and 25-16, 25-19, and 25-23 in the nightcap.

Wa-Hi's statistical leaders in the first match were Brogan Watson with 26 assists; Tianna Cummings with 12 digs; Megan Thompson with nine digs; Kennedy Snider with 16 digs; Chantelle Zamora with eight kills and 12 digs; Torri Crawford with 13 kills; Lexie Mahan with eight kills; Madeline Jacobson with seven kills; and Devyn Humphreys with three blocks.

Thompson and Cummings had eight digs apiece in the second match. Snider had seven digs; Crawford had five kills; and Mahan had six kills.

"I was pleased with the girls' play in game one. We just needed to finish," Wa-Hi coach Audra Cummings said. "Game two wasn't as strong. We didn't play up to our abilities."

The Blue Devils host Eisenhower on Tuesday.
