Woman charged with assault after chase

Griselda Salinas-Garduno is accused of ramming a vehicle operated by her ex-boyfriend.

WALLA WALLA -- A woman has been formally charged with driving an SUV and ramming a vehicle operated by her ex-boyfriend after allegedly chasing him in the Eastgate area last week.

Griselda Salinas-Garduno, 27, is accused of second-degree assault -- domestic violence. The charge was filed Friday in Walla Walla County Superior Court.

Sheriff's deputies said Salinas-Garduno was involved in a physical altercation with Samuel Sanchez Orozco at Rooks Park about 11 a.m. Thursday.

After the fight, Sanchez Orozco, 29, sped off in a car -- with Salinas-Garduno apparently in pursuit in the SUV -- west on Mill Creek Road and onto Isaacs Avenue, according to officials.

After driving through a grass field, Salinas-Garduno allegedly rammed the front end of the Sanchez Orozco vehicle, but no injuries were reported.

She said "she was driving fast and not able to stop before impacting (the Sanchez Orozco car)," according to a Sheriff's Office report filed in court.

Salinas-Garduno, of 206 N.W. Eighth Ave., Milton-Freewater, was booked into the County Jail, with bail later set at $5,000. Bail was posted Friday and she was released pending further court proceedings.
