Forest restrictions eased due to cooler weather


PENDLETON -- Restrictions on activities in the Umatilla National Forest have been lifted due to cooler weather.

Prohibitions on use of chain saws, campfires and smoking outside of designated areas have ended at present, said Brian Goff, fire staff officer. The restrictions were implemented in early-August to reduce the risk of wildfires.
