TOUCHET - Pomeroy entered the hostile environs of Touchet's gym, and emerged with a 20-25, 25-20, 25-15, 26-18, 15-5 Southeast 1B volleyball victory Tuesday night.

"It's always a hard place to play," Pirates coach Bruce Crossfield said. "They get good, loud vocal support. I don't think we played poorly, they played well. That's a pretty good team with no wins. I'm not positive what their record is, but it's deceiving.

"When you can get a league win on the road, you'll take it. It's never easy."

McKenzie Uto had 15 digs to lead the Pirates. Samantha Smith was 19-of-19 serving with three aces, McKenzie Monahan recorded 17 kills, Delaney Monahan and Savanah Ruark each had six blocks, and Haylee Koller came up with 31 assists.

Pomeroy, now 3-2 in SE1B play and 6-4 after going 3-2 Saturday at the Border Battle in Clarkston, heads to Genesee, Idaho, for a tournament there beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday.
