$n$ Waitsburg-Prescott's Seth Deal places second at St. John's cross country meet

ST. JOHN, Wash. - Waitsburg-Prescott's Seth Deal finished second, 14 seconds behind Asotin's Chase Teigen, at the District 9 league cross country meet here Wednesday.

Deal finished the 2.95-mile course on the St. John golf course in 15:51.

Deal's teammate E.J. Meserve finished ninth in 17:36.

Pomeroy runner Riley Bott was 20th in 18:47, and fellow Pirates Bryan McGreevy 26th in 19:57, Colsen Mayfield 27th in 20 minutes flat, Stevie Fletcher 30th in 20:04, and Micheal Wade 34th in 21:03.

Dayton's Jacob McCleary was 35th in 21:05. Pomeroy's Tyler King finished 38th in 21:55 and Jacob Hirsch 45th in 23:38.

Walla Walla Valley Academy's Ryan Hepker placed 48th in 24:40.

On the girls side, WWVA's Jessica Arnzen was the top local runner, finishing 10th in 22:28, followed by Knights teammates Christine Lomeland in 17th in 24:02 and Lauren Spickelmier 19th in 24:55.

Dayton's Samura Miller finished 26th in 26:51, and Pomeroy' Kelcey Gerking 27th in 29:45, Shelby Fuchs 28th in 29:53 and Elizabeth Hopkins 30th in 36:37.
