WWU Senior Showcase to feature local fastpitch players Friday


COLLEGE PLACE - Walla Walla University's Softball Senior Showcase features local fastpitch players for its tournament Friday.

Play begins at noon Friday at Hebbel-Yanke Softball Field, followed by a home run derby and skills competition. The second game is slated for 3 p.m., followed by an awards presentation.

The first Senior Showcase includes, on the first team, local players Nicole Brown, a pitcher from Touchet; catcher Morgan Entze from Weston-McEwen; first baseman and outfielder Shelby Smith from Dayton; infielder/outfielder Nicole Lambert from Dayton; infielder Dionna Baker from Waitsburg-Prescott; shortstop Stephanie Ferrel from DeSales; right fielder Devan Pommerening from DeSales.

On the second squad, local players include pitcher Kaitlyn Erm from Mac-Hi; first baseman Kaylyn Odman from Mac-Hi; second baseman/shortstop Rilei Hill from Weston-McEwen; outfielder Jolene Brannan from Mac-Hi; and utility player Hailey Goenen from Waitsburg-Prescott.
