Walla Walla - Lee J. Meidinger, 93, died September 28, 2011, at Park Manor Rehabilitation Center, 1710 Plaza Way, Walla Walla, Washington.
Friends may pay their respects from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, October 1, 2011, at Mountain View- Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla. The funeral service will be 9:30 a.m., Sunday, October 2, 2011, at the Village Seventh- day Adventist Church, 12th and Larch Streets, College Place. The graveside service and burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Walt Meske will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to Maranatha International through the funeral home.
Lee was born June 20, 1918, in Shuler, Alberta Canada, to Gottlieb and Katie Reiman Meidinger. He graduated from Lodi Academy, Lodi, California; attended Walla Walla College and graduated from LaSierra University in California. On August 30, 1942, he and Mary Weatherby Meidinger married in Compton, California. Lee served as a Seventh-day Adventist pastor in Arkansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Washington, retiring in 1982. He and his wife moved to Walla Walla in 1983 from Wenatchee, Washington.
He was a member of the Village Church and the Daryl Meidinger V.F.W. Post #466 of College Place.
He is survived by his wife; four sons: Dennis Meidinger of Enumclaw, Washington; Don Meidinger of Battle Ground, Washington; Dan Meidinger of Sunnyvale, California; and Duane Meidinger of College Place; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Daryl Meidinger.
