A musical presence in Walla Walla since 1974, Blue Mountain Chorus of Sweet Adelines continues its entertainment tradition with its annual show production.

Members of the chorus are hard at work rehearsing the music by composers that many of us love to sing.

Director Darlene Filla said the Oct. 14-15 production, "I write the Songs," will feature guest performers Kevin Loomer and Richele Loney, considered family as they have graced the stage many times with the chorus. Joining them this time are Daniel Rose, Joe Haefer, Julie Anne Jones and accompanist Siena Picchi Dobson, as well as Lynnette Brown, Ilona Verwer-Pease, Barb Knopp and Jenny Miles, who comprise the Blueprint quartet.

"The chorus is proud of the kind of family entertainment we bring to the community and know that our attendees leave for home with songs in their hearts and smiles on their faces," Darlene said in a release.

At previous performances, audiences have enjoyed Dixieland Bands, the Walla Walla High School Pep Band led by Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, a Mardi Gras parade with balloons dropping from the ceiling, the Pink Panther, the Village People and Tevye from "Fiddler on the Roof."

"The long history of our chorus and quartets includes singing as guests in a Walla Walla Symphony Broadway concert, in the Feast of Carols, on the Pepsi Stage at the Walla Walla County Fairgrounds, at the Walla Walla Balloon Stampede, the Ducky Derby, Summer concerts at the Plaza, openings of Whitman College basketball and Walla Walla Sweets baseball games, and for numerous conventions held here.

Tickets are on sale now for $15 general and $12 seniors/students at Book amp; Game, Christian Supply and Etceteras in Waitsburg or online at www.facebook.com/bluemountainchorus. Early purchase is encouraged because of limited seating in the Walla Walla Community College Performing Arts Center. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.
