TRI-CITIES - The Walla Walla Xplosion '00, a 12-and-under girls fastpitch team, opened their tournament season with a 6-0 record in the Umpire Blue Invitational over the weekend.
Although there was no official placing awarded in this round-robin tournament, the Xplosion took home the best record in the 12U division.
The Xplosion '00 opened the tournament on Saturday by beating the Northwest Wildfire, from Coeur d'alene, 6-3. They then followed with a 15-0 win over the Washington Angels and a 10-6 win over the Salem Aftershock. On Sunday, the Xplosion defeated the Diamond Dusters from Port Orchard by a score of 10-7. They then went on to defeat the Boise Blast, 12-2, and the Union County Ligtning, 17-0.
Xplosion '00 players are Kamryn Coleman, Lauren Hoe, Faith Hoe, Teisha Payne, Maddy Thomas, Bow Maiden, Alison Skurski, Emma Case, Paris Orchard, Mikaela Forcum and Meghan Yenney. Coaches are Andy Coleman and Kaela Hoe.
The Xplosion '00 are 10-2 on the season and play their next tournament on April 13-15 in the NSA Ice Breaker in Tri-Cities.
