Chris Reiff

Chris Reiff
July 2, 1956 - April 1, 2012

Beloved father, brother, uncle and friend died on the afternoon of April 1, 2012. Chris was born in Downey, Calif. on July 2, 1956, to Norwood and Betty Reiff. He was the youngest of four children. In 1963, the family moved to Walla Walla and Chris went to Sharpstein School, Garrison Junior High and graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1974. As a young man, Chris was very active in baseball and was an expert alpine skier. Throughout his life, he had a fondness for motorcycles that was hard to measure. In his spare time, one was as likely to find him out on his Harley as anywhere else.

Chris was a very dedicated, loving single parent to his two sons, Travis and Tim. Chris worked at Reiff Manufacturing for many years. He was the type of craftsman who had skills that are rarely found. He built fantastic things out of no more than raw materials, a good drawing and the God-given skill with which he was blessed. He was a good leader and led by example. He taught more than one young man how to do a good day's work. He loved animals and almost always had a good dog around. Chris had a belly laugh that couldn't help but bring joy to anyone lucky enough to hear it.

Chris was preceded in death by his mother and dad. He is survived by two sons, Travis and Timothy; by one brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Nancy Reiff of Walla Walla; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Pam and Brad Ralston of Visalia, Calif., and Susan and Don Stout of Olympia; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

God bless you Chris; you will be sorely missed by all who loved you..

A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church Walla Walla, corner of First and Birch Streets, Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Albert Gillin officiating. There will be a private family interment. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Aid Center or American Diabetes Association through the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA.
