Letters To The Editor - Building high school in College Place makes sense

I am voting "yes" on the bond proposal for College Place School District for the following two reasons:

First, I love College Place and its children/young people. As an educator, I want all the young people here to have an opportunity to learn/grow together throughout their elementary, middle-level, and high-school years.

Walla Walla, though a fine city, is not where I vote or have any say in the school district. Having to pay more for our College Place students to attend its high school where we have no say in the educational process is not reasonable.

Thus, it is prudent to remodel Sager and Meadow Brook to begin a small, quality high school where all of us in College Place can work to support and mentor these precious young people.

Second, every child deserves the best possible place in which to learn. Old buildings like Davis, although carefully kept up, are not as safe or as convenient as they should be.

I have the highest regard for the administration and faculty/staff of the College Place Public Schools, and I want to make a public commitment to work together with them to provide the best education possible for all children.
