Residents 'saved by the belt' in wrecks sought

Have you been involved in a traffic collision and were "saved by the belt"? If so, the Walla Walla County Traffic Safety Task Force would like to hear from you.

The Task Force is looking for Walla Walla County-area residents who were involved in a collision but were not seriously injured because they were buckled up. America's annual seat belt campaign is held in late May and early June and the Task Force is currently working on their publicity campaign for the event.

"We are looking for up to 30 local people who have been saved from serious injury or death because they were using their seat belt and would be willing to have their picture taken and maybe share their story of the collision" says program coordinator Nancy Walters in a news release.

If you have a story to share, contact the Task Force at 524-2936.
