Touchet's late run not enough in 12-7 loss to Dayton's Bulldogs

DAYTON - A late four-run rally wasn't enough for Touchet to overcome an 8-3 deficit heading into the top of the sixth inning Tuesday night in Dayton, as the Bulldogs went on to post four more runs in the bottom of the inning and come away with a 12-7, Southeast 1B-2B interleague baseball victory over the Indians.

"Right now, the whole team is hitting," Dayton coach Sal Benavides said. "The guys that aren't hitting, are getting sacrifice flies for us."

Dayton started scoring with a five-run first inning capped by a three-RBI Joe Yenney triple.

Senior Colton Bickelhaupt was on the mound in the sixth and gave up four runs and three walks in his first action back from an injury.

The Bulldogs visit Waitsburg-Prescott for a doubleheader Saturday at 11 a.m.

The Indians face Pomeroy Tuesday in a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. Dayton is 6-1 on the season and 2-1 in the SE2B.
