Man acquitted in cyclist's death

Melvin J. Bohleen of Dayton was found not guilty by a jury Thursday afternoon.

WALLA WALLA - A man driving on Middle Waitsburg Road last May who struck and fatally injured a bicyclist has been acquitted of the crime of vehicular homicide.

The eight-woman four-man Superior Court jury reached its unanimous not-guilty verdict late Thursday afternoon in the trial of Melvin J. Bohleen.

He had been accused of driving with disregard for the safety of others when he struck Sara S. Eustis on May 21.

The trial began Wednesday.
