RICHLAND - Jessica Hunstman and Kendall Dunovant carded an 82 on the par-72 Columbia Point Golf Course to lead the Wa-Hi girls to a third-place finish at the Chiawana Invite Thursday.
Richland won the Chapman-style scramble, which counted to top two scores out of teams of two golfers each, with a 167. Moses Lake took second with a 181 and Wa-Hi came in third at 182.
Kamiakin, 183, Pasco, 186, Chiawana, 201, Eastmont, 208, and Wenatchee, incomplete, rounded out the field.
Marisa Jimenez and Molly Warinner finished in 100 strokes for the Blue Devils. Shanna Postlewait and Summer Carlton-Gantz carded a 104.
"This is a good experience for the girls," Wa-Hi coach Mike Patterson said. "What I was really impressed with was that they all finished better on the back side of the course. They were just hitting better shots and taking their time."
Richland's Chelci Robertson and Kea Robertson took home medals with a 79.
The Blue Devils hit the links Monday in Wenatchee at noon.
