Everett Leon and Patsy Lorene Carson of Milton-Freewater celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family on Thursday.
The couple wed April 12, 1952, in Grants Pass, Ore. Patsy's maiden name is Shaw.
Everett was a field mechanic for more than 39 years. He was a supervisor at Birdseye Foods and continued through the changes to D and K Frozen Foods and later Stokley Foods. He retired in 1993.
He meets for bi-yearly luncheons with employees of the former Birdseye Foods where they talk about old times and how they feed the world.
He enjoys watching his sons race his 1968 Chevrolet Camaro at the circuit drag races, going to his grandson's baseball games, gardening and going on long walks.
A homemaker, Patsy raised her four children and took care of the farm.
Once the children were grown she worked in the health care business for more than 20 years. She retired in 1999.
She enjoys cooking for her family, especially the Thanksgiving turkey and dressing; working in her garden, particularly with her roses; and staying active in her church and Bible study.
They have two daughters, Anita Carson of Milton-Freewater and Betty Waggoner of Walla Walla; two sons, Everett Carson Jr. and Bryon Carson, both of Milton-Freewater; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren with one more on the way.
