Estes hits game-winner for W-P

PRESCOTT - Waitsburg-Prescott's Dalton Estes hit a game winning RBI during extra innings Saturday against Dayton to win the first game 3-2, after which W-P sailed past Dayton in the second game, winning 12-2.

W-P's Zach Bartlow struck out twelve in seven innings and hit a triple, batting in Kyle Dozier in the fifth inning.

Dayton's Joe Yenney hit a double to score Lowden Smith and tie the game in the sixth inning.

W-P's Dalton Estes hit the game winning ball to get the RBI and win the opener.

"With six runs in the first two innings by W-P and the loss from the first game knocked the wind from our sails and we were just unable to get back into the game and score," commented Dayton coach Sal Benavides.

W-P is 4-2 (6-4 overall) and travels to Rosalia to play Tekoa-Oakesdale-Rosalia Saturday at 11 a.m.

Dayton is 2-2 (6-3 overall) and plays DeSales at home on Saturday at 2 p.m.
