Wa-Hi softball team dominates Chiawana

PASCO - Alyson Ambler homered twice, one in each game of a doubleheader, and pitched nine innings to lead the Wa-Hi softball team to 9-0 and 21-1 wins in Columbia Basin Big Nine Conference games here Friday.

The Blue Devils pounded Chiawana with 33 hits and 30 runs in the two games.

"The kids did a nice job of staying focused, motivated and being aggressive and taking care of games they were supposed to win," Wa-Hi coach Jerry Humphreys said.

Wa-Hi's Andrea Hamada and Libbie Jimenez had five total hits apiece. TraeAnn Payne slugged four hits in the second game.

In the circle, Ambler pitched all of game one and two innings of the second game, pitching a two-hit shutout in game one.
