ECHO, Ore. - The Weston-McEwen TigerScots lost two extra-inning heart-breakers to the Echo-Stanfield softball club in Oregon Special District 5 action Saturay; 7-6 in 10 innings in the opener and 4-3 in eight innings of the nightcap.
The TigerScots rallied for three runs late in both games to send them into extras.
In the first game, Taryn Coffman and Natalie Arnold singled to lead off the seventh inning before Rilei Hill bunted up the first base line.
A throwing error by the E-S fielder allowed two runs to score and Hill to get to third.
Morgan Entze followed with a sac fly to score Hill and send the game into extra innings.
Echo-Stanfield then scratched out a run in the tenth on a single, sacrifice bunt and another safety to win.
"It was a well-contested game," W-M coach Jeff Griggs said. "No doubt."
The TigerScots took the lead in the fifth innning of game two and then E-S tied it up before winning it in the eighth.
W-M (5-4, 0-2) had singles from Taylor and Morgan Entze along with Rilei Hill in the fifth-inning rally.
