Letters To The Editor - Democratic Party going in wrong direction

The Democratic Party is simply not the same as it used to be. There's been a big change, and not for the best.

Democrats and unions have obviously joined forces in the demand for Big Government. Unfortunately, Big Government means that hard-working men and women pay too high a price, not only with their money, but with their freedom.

America can't afford Democrats who are determined to continue their irresponsible agenda. Their massive spending fiasco can't be fixed with higher taxes, or redistribution of wealth. Printing more money isn't the answer, and neither is putting our debt on the Chinese credit card. But the government keeps right on spending. This is insanity!

Barack Obama promised to fundamentally change this nation. He's done a pretty good job. This isn't a compliment.

His changes are destructive and spell failure for America. Our national debt is so preposterously high, it's beyond frightening. Our credit rating has been lowered for the first time in history. Our gas prices are going higher.

The "real" unemployment figures are said to be near those of the Great Depression. Even if that's not accurate, the figures are unquestionably depressing.

Obama dwells on his pity-party assertions that President Bush left the country in bad shape. Bush made mistakes, but he didn't blame them on others. He took responsibility for them.

What we have now is a case of Obama and the Democrats blaming Republicans for causing the problems. The Obama Team won't own up to its many mistakes. If anyone's waiting for that to happen, all I can say is, don't hold your breath.

If Obama and Company stay in power, America's tragic transformation to socialism will be complete. We might not recover. Look at the socialist countries that have gone broke from playing destructive games with their economies. Do we want this for The United States? Voters better get serious.
