Donald V. Bishop, 43, 2072 Old Milton Highway, No. 7, was sentenced July 25 on one count each third-degree possession of stolen property and third-degree attempted theft. The sentence included $200 in court costs, $85.90 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, 364 days in the county jail, credit for 42 days served, 12 months bench probation. On July 24 Bishop pleaded guilty to knowingly possessing a checking account number belonging to another with a value not exceeding $750, knowing it was stolen and withheld it from the true owner and to, with intent to deprive the true owner, attempted to wrongfully obtain property with a value not exceeding $750 in cash and merchandise from Walmart, both on June 13.

Jason G. Barnes, 28, 1010 S.E. Birch Ave., College Place, was sentenced July 30 on one count possessing a stolen motor vehicle. The sentence included restitution of $6,221.88, $200 in court costs, $62 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, $100 biological fee, 12 3/4 months in the custody of the Department of Corrections, credit for 56 days served, 12 3/4 months community custody. On July 30 Barnes pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle knowing it was unlawfully taken from the rightful owner on June 3.

Michael S. Hankins, 24, 741 Arnold Lane, Waitsburg, was sentenced July 30 on one count escape from community custody. The sentence included $200 in court costs, $102.60 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, $100 biological fee, 60 days in the county jail, credit for 60 days served. On June 20 Hankins pleaded guilty to discontinuing making himself available to the Department of Corrections and kept his whereabouts unknown, between March 5 and April 13.

Donigar E. Watkins, 31, 237 Eagan St. was sentenced July 30 on one count possession of controlled substances by a prisoner. The court dismissed one other count. The sentence included $200 in court costs, $62 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, $1,000 violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act fee, $500 drug enforcement fund, $100 biological fee, 37 days in the county jail, credit for 37 days served. On July 30 Watkins pleaded guilty to unlawfully possessing marijuana inside the Walla Walla County Jail on June 15.

Heather L. Mercado, 22, 630 Chase St. was sentenced July 30 on one count violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act. The court dismissed one other count. The sentence included $200 in court costs, $33.40 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, $1,000 violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act fee, $500 drug enforcement fund, $100 crime lab and biological fee, 30 days in the county jail, 240 hours community service, 12 months community custody. On July 17 Mercado pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of methamphetamine on or about March 10.

Scotty L. Hines, 29, 2224 Roberts Place, was sentenced July 30 on one count each second-degree burglary, second-degree possession of stolen property and two counts third-degree theft. The court dismissed three other counts. The sentence included restitution to be determined, $200 in court costs, $62 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, $100 biological fee, 18 months in the custody of the Department of Corrections, credit for 42 days served, 18 months community custody. On July 16 Hines pleaded guilty to entering or remaining in a building other than a vehicle or dwelling with intent to commit a crime; to knowingly possessing stolen property; to wrongfully exerting unauthorized control over property of another of a value not exceeding $750 with intent to derive the owners in two separate actions, all on April 12.
