Walla Walla Images of how streams and rivers benefit fish, farms and people are the focus of a photography contest now under way.
The Walla Walla Watershed Management Partnership is inviting local residents to submit their favorite photographs of the Walla Walla Basin to illustrate the theme “What makes the Walla Walla Basin home to you?” The winning image will be used on the cover of the partnership’s 2012 report to the state Legislature and on other outreach materials.
Cathy Schaeffer, partnership executive director, said photos must represent positive activities in the Walla Walla Basin, emphasizing the interaction of streams and rivers with people, agriculture and fish. The contest is open to Walla Walla Basin residents age 18 and over (excluding professional photographers) and up to three photo entries per person may be submitted.
Entries must be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by 5 p.m. on Aug. 27 for consideration.
