Walla Walla The owner of the local Jazzercise studio is offering free introductory classes to help build a growing interest in the fitness program.
Guests of all ages and fitness levels are invited to stop by the Walla Walla Jazzercise studio, 231/2 S. Spokane St., Aug. 18-20.
Free classes will be offered and special programs will be available to give new students who want to join for free during the remainder of August and all of September.
Local franchise owner Janet Byerley said the program has become popular with younger students over the summer. She hopes to see the trend continue as school starts. She said additional discounts for high school and college students are available.
“This program for younger students really took off this summer,” she said. “Affordable passes to unlimited classes encourages fitness at an early age. They love the variety of music and endurance challenge.”
Byerley said the center has 27 classes per week, including new one-hour classes offered at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, starting the week of Sept. 1. New instructors Kim Nemeth and Shellie Daniel will lead those.
The Jazzercise classes include warmup, high-energy aerobic routines, muscle-toning and a cool-down stretch segment. It combines elements of dance, resistance training, Pilates, yoga, kick boxing and more. To learn more, visit getfitwallawalla.com or call 525-9772.
