Woodinville winery opens second Walla Walla tasting room

— Walla Walla wineries have been expanding their footprints in Woodinville over the past several years. It seems it was just a matter of time before a Woodinville-based winery opened a second tasting room in Walla Walla.

That’s just what happened late last week with the grand-opening celebration of Mark Ryan Winery at 26 E. Main St., in the former site of Tru Cellars next to Starbucks.

The winery, owned by winemaker Mark Ryan McNeilly, has built a following at Woodinville’s Hollywood Schoolhouse location. The winery made Wine & Spirits’ Top 100 list in 2011. Ryan was also named Seattle Magazine’s Winemaker of the Year in 2011; and Paul Gregutt designated the business as one of the state’s new “cult wineries” for Wine Enthusiast.

The new tasting room had a soft opening at the end of July. To learn more, check out markryanwinery.com.
