Pertussis epidemic nears 3,500 cases statewide; 65 in WW County
The pertussis epidemic in Washington state continues to defeat the efforts of public health officials. As of Thursday, the state had reported almost 3,500 cases in 2012, and Walla Walla County is at 65 confirmed cases. Of those, kids ages 11 to 15 are the most impacted, followed by children 6 to 10 years of age, according to the Walla Walla County Health Department. For more information call 524-2650.
