School Board member Jim Lehmann to step down

WALLA WALLA — Walla Walla School Board member Jim Lehmann is stepping down from the board, according to a district news release. The Sept. 4 board meeting will be Lehmann’s last day.

Lehmann said he is leaving his post to spend more time with his family, which includes his children and grandchildren on the east coast. In a release, Lehmann said it has been an honor and privilege to serve on the board.

Walla Walla Public Schools Superintendent Mick Miller is working with board president Max Carrera on a plan to find a replacement for Lehmann’s position 3 seat, which has a term running through 2015. Lehmann was elected to the board in 2007 and was reelected for a second term last year.
