WALLA WALLA — A free town hall-style meeting will be held Sunday at St. Patrick Catholic Church for anyone seeking information on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals plan.
The plan, unveiled by President Obama June 15, halts the deportation of undocumented immigrant youth and young adults who have spent at least five years living in the U.S. and came to the country before turning 16, among other requirements.
The action permits qualifying individuals to apply to remain in the U.S. to study and work legally.
The meeting, sponsored by OneAmerica, will start at 1 p.m. in Blanchet Hall of the church, 425 W. Alder St. Questions about the DACA application process, including necessary documentation, will be available, as well as the chance to sign up for free legal help.
