Child identity kits offered at fair

CORRECTION: In a previous version of the story we reported the kits would be available on Wednesday. The correct day is Friday.

The Walla Walla Area Crime Watch, Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office and Search and Rescue are offering free SafeAssured child identity kits Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Walla Walla Fair & Frontier Days.

The kits feature photos, video and digital fingerprints saved on an encrypted CD for parents to keep and use in the event a child is abducted. Visit the Walla Walla County Search and Rescue booth at the fair for more information, or call Vicki Ruley, the Walla Walla Police Department crime prevention coordinator, at 520-3735.
