Wedding - Harold and Alda Postlewait


Harold and Alda Postlewait of Walla Walla will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with a reception from 1-4 p.m. Sept. 9 in the Rancho Villa Club House.

The reception for friends and family will be hosted by sons Jason Postlewait of Walla Walla and Michael Postlewait of College Place and their families and daughter Theresa Thompson of Spokane. At the couple’s request, guests are asked not to bring gifts.

Alda and Harold met while bowling at Totem Bowl in Milton-Freewater. They wed Sept. 5, 1972, in Walla Walla. Alda’s maiden name is Meek.

Harold worked at Totem Bowl and Pioneer Bowl and as a corrections officer at the Washington State Penitentiary. He retired in 2004. He enjoys bowling and time with his grandchildren. He is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Alda was a Walla Walla Campfire executive and worked for the Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Service, Whitman College and Phinney Hatchery. She retired in 2005. She enjoys bowling, crafts and sewing.

In addition to their children, the Postlewaits have five grandchildren.
