I've always wondered if elected officials and well-paid government officials think of cutting their own pay instead of cutting essential personnel such as police officers and firefighters?
As we all know, it's a scare tactic so we will belly up to the tax bar and give them more money to waste.
When they start cutting back on their own pay and that of some of our other overpaid city, county and state personnel, then maybe we will be willing to believe there are budget problems.
When my budget doesn't balance, I don't quit buying groceries for the family, I stop buying nonessentials. Do we need to explain to our "leaders" the difference between groceries and junk food?
