Mac-Hi grapplers second at Enterprise Tourney


ENTERPRISE, Ore. — Mac-Hi’s wrestlers placed second at the 11-team Enterprise Tournament on Friday.

Pioneer Cole Skramstead won the 120-pound division, Jesus Saldana won at 170 pounds and Brayden Moller took the 182-pound division.

Jeffery Jones was second at 138 pounds, Tavis Hodgen was second at 145, Vince Ross was runner-up at 160, and Gregory Moreno was second at 285.

“Overall, we’re very excited about how our kids wrestled for the first tournament of the year,” Mac-Hi coach Beau Chester said. “(We had) seven wrestlers in the finals, including three freshman in Cole, Vince and Gregory, one sophomore Jeffery and three seniors in Tavis, Jesus and Brayden.

“The team as a whole wrestled very well.”

Clarkston won the tournament.

Mac-Hi heads to La Grande for the Muilenburg Tournament, with about 30 teams from Washington, Idaho and Oregon expected, Friday and Saturday.
