WALLA WALLA — Downtown parking fines will double next year.
On Wednesday, City Council unanimously approved increasing fines within its two-hour zone at the request of local merchants represented by the Downtown Walla Walla Foundation.
The current fines range from $5 to $50, depending on how many tickets are received within a 30-day period.
The new fines will start Jan. 1 and are as follows:
- First offenses: $10.
- Second offense: $30.
- Third offense: $50.
- Fourth offense: $100.
The fee for not responding to a parking fine within 30 days will also double from $25 to $50.
